TOPC has added the TOPC TXA2 to its workstation lineup, pairing AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor with 192GB of shared memory. The company’s store currently lists the 2TB SSD configuration at $6,499.
The compact machine joins a growing group of desktops built around AMD’s large memory pool. Compared with the 128GB iBUYPOWER AI Halo, the TXA2 adds another 64GB of memory and room for four NVMe drives.
Up to 160GB for the integrated GPU
The TXA2’s main attraction is its 192GB of LPDDR5X memory, with up to 160GB available to the integrated Radeon graphics, according to Notebookcheck’s October 15 report. The memory is soldered, so buyers cannot upgrade it later.
That 160GB comes out of the shared total. It is not a separate graphics card with another 160GB of memory on top.
For local AI users, this gives models more room than a conventional consumer graphics card can offer. A model still needs space for its weights, working memory and conversation cache. BoredFace’s guide to why local AI models use so much VRAM explains those requirements.
As a rough example, 300 billion parameters stored at four bits each would take about 150GB for the weights alone. Quantization metadata and runtime memory add to that figure, so the advertised GPU allocation is not a guarantee that every model of that size will fit.
Four SSD slots and two Ethernet ports
The official TOPC listing confirms four M.2 2280 NVMe slots, giving users room to keep multiple large model downloads on internal storage. Both 2TB and 4TB configurations are listed.
Connectivity includes one 10Gb Ethernet port, one 2.5Gb Ethernet port, two USB4 ports, HDMI and DisplayPort.
Underneath, the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 has 16 Zen 5 CPU cores and 32 threads, with boost speeds up to 5.2GHz. AMD’s specifications also list Radeon 8065S graphics with 40 compute units.
These specifications describe the hardware. They do not establish how quickly a particular model will generate text on the TXA2.
Available now, with a changed starting price
Launch coverage quoted $6,399 for the 2TB version. At the time of writing, TOPC’s store shows $6,499 for that configuration.
TOPC marks the workstation as in stock and says it ships within one to two business days. The listing includes a one-year warranty, with shipping and tax calculated at checkout.
